About

Joycelyn, based in Melbourne, has experience in psychology which has pivoted towards technology. She has engaged in various projects between international collaborations and working with local small to medium organizations.

The Idea

Joycelyn is working towards a procurement system to cater for halal certification.

Although it is still in the ideation phase, she believes there’s a market for this for corporations, halal producers and halal-consumers.

Joycelyn progressed through the program, engaging with the content and validating her idea with several customer interviews. She needs to continue to interview both suppliers, exporters, importers and halal certification bodies to further validate the idea, before looking at bringing on a co-founder to build out a prototype of mini-MVP.

Joycelyn’s key customer segments include:
- Livestock (exporters) producers in Australia
- Malaysian livestock importers

I had the incredible opportunity to participate in Hatch, and the impact on my professional journey has been nothing short of transformative. The program's focus on honing essential skills like perfecting my pitch, understanding the customer journey, and gaining market insights through interviews with producers and regulatory offices has been instrumental.

What's Next?

Joycelyn hopes to interview more suppliers, exporters, importers and halal certification bodies to further validate the pricing, and feature set, before looking at bringing on a co-founder to build out a prototype of mini-MVP.
