Case Study

Tim Packham

The Producer

Tim is a farmer in Blayney, NSW, and is building a minimum till disk ripper that will decrease compaction and increase water infiltration on all types of soils.

Tim’s deep ripper is expected to be significantly cheaper than competitors and to be able to provide the pasture improvements of deep ripping without bringing rocks to the surface.

Program learnings

During the program Tim spent time talking to other producers to sense-check his idea and ensure that there was a real problem to be solved.

Currently Tim is in the process of building the prototype of the product which he is beginning to test with prospective customers through organizing demonstrations of the prototype.
